Description (Physical description)
Poster or printed page of the Hindu deity 'Shiva', who is depicted as a 'mendicant' or beggar. Shiva is shown cross legged on top of a large rock, wearing an animal pelt around the body and painted with white bands across his body and wooden beads around his neck. There is a ray of fire emitting from the third eye in his forehead, which is pointed towards Kamadeva, who is shown consumed by fire. In his hands is a bow and an arrow. To the right of the print are a number of soldiers wearing red and blue robes. This print is one of twenty-three coloured glossy printed pages of deities from the text by Raja Ravi Varma, "Gods of India".
