Description (Physical description)
Poster or printed page of the Hindu deities 'Indra' and 'Indrani' who are shown worshipping 'Shiva' and 'Parvati'. Everyone is shown riding a top of an elephant, which are adorned with richly coloured blankets. Indra is shown with blue skin and four arms; the front two are supporting his consort Indrani and the back two arms holding a club and a conch shell. Shiva is also shown with four arms, one of which is proffering a bowl towards Indrani, another is supporting his consort Parvati and the back two arms are holding a conch shell and a trident. In the arms of Parvati is her son, the elephant headed deity Ganesh. Above the figures are winged attendants holding flowers and water vessels. This print is one of twenty-three coloured glossy printed pages of deities from the text by Raja Ravi Varma, "Gods of India".
