Description
A large cow bell made from a bent and riveted wrought iron sheet, narrowing from top to bottom. The bottom portion is missing, forming a jagged lower edge. The suspension loop is a solid tube, curved in form. An iron clapper is suspended inside by a loop screwed through the top of the bell. A typed paper label affixed to the top of the bell reads: 'Lot 699'.

Six apparently unaccessioned cow bells (TEMP.00712-TEMP.00717) were found together in the museum store. Some or all of them may have been accessioned and become disassociated with their museum number, or they may never have been formally accessioned into the museum's collection.
