J. Hall (2005): 'Boots and stockings, one pair, for man. Boots extend to knee with front slightly longer than back. Each is made from dehaired sealskin in two piece construction. A single piece of sealskin (bearded - original catalogue card) forms the sole which is turned over the sides and crimped around the foot. 5 ridges of white dehaired sealskin are inserted into the seam between the sole and upper foot; two ridges are decorated with equidistantly spaced stitches of black sealskin. Leg section and upper foot are made from a single piece of sealskin (fjord - original catalogue card) with overlapping edge down centre front and upper foot decorated with four parallel wavy rows of white dehaired sealskin. Band of beige haired sealskin is sewn around straight upper edge. Structural sewing and applique are with sinew. Stockings are each made from sealskin with the fur to the interior. Band of same is sewn around the straight upper edge which extends 1.2 cm (on C) and 2.5 cm (on D) above top of boot. Tears on boot C and stocking D repaired with sinew. Condition: skin on sole scraped, needs reshaping, patches of fur missing, holes in stocking C.'
