Description (Physical description)
Thin wooden spear with long wooden point, the base of which is formed of three protruding prongs. The point is wrapped with thin fibre strips; the very tip is split.

Context (Analysis)
The zig zag carving on the hand grip is a common motif in Milne Bay Province and could indicate that the spear comes from this area.

Description (Physical description)
Spear, with wooden shaft and spearhead. Spearhead with three barbs, wrapped in plant fibre and resin; grip below spearhead carved with zigzag pattern, once possibly infilled with lime; tip missing and split. Cylindrical shaft of light-weight palm wood.
