Long wooden sledge. Runners made from whalebone (4 sections on each) and tipped with iron sheets at the front. Wooden slats affixed with sinew. Some of the slats are possibly repurposed from railway sleepers and covered in creosote, and others possibly made from re-used tongue-and-groove flooring.
