Description (Physical description)
'A Stone coffin and lid of Barnack Rag (Oolitic limestone), found with lid already broken. Extern. length 6' 11.5" int. length 6' 2" extern. width at head 2' 5" int. width at head 1' 8" extern. width at foot 1' 10.5" int. width at foot 1' 3.5" extern. depth at head 1' 9.5" int, depth at head 1' 3.5" extern. depth at foot 1' 3.5" int. depth at foot 11" B Lead coffin and lid, found inside (a), flat lid with no turn-down. Length 5' 11.5" width at head 17" width at foot 16" depth at head 12.5" depth at foot 11" .Analysis of the lead shows a small tin content The coffin contained the body of a woman about 5' 2" tall (Duckworth Lab. No. EU.I.3.177); a few pieces of the woolen shroud survived ^+ snail-shell^ and seem to be of wool in plain weave and matt weave (C)' reads the catalogue card. In addition the skeletons of a shrew and a mouse are seen, though this is not noted on the handwritten catalogue card only on the later typed card.

A document held by the Duckworth laboratory written by Bernard Denston (possibly between 1952-56) states the remains were transferred to the Duckworth from the school of Anatomy. Since that time, it appears that they have been on loan to the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.
