Description (Physical description)
Dark blue, light-weight, silk sari with gold zari work in borders, pallu and in " butis" in centre panel. Bought in Bangalore, an important silk centre, but this sari is in the Benares style and most likely made in that region. Nowadays silk saris of all regions are available in the large stores and bazaars of all major Indian towns. The blouse made to go with the sari came from an extra piece of silk attached to the sari length, and was made by a tailor in Bhubaneswar, Orissa for the donor.
