Context (Amendments / updates)
There has been much confusion over the correct numbering of the shields listed in the accession run of E 1911.102.106-118. These objects appear to originally have been assigned the accession number E 1911.371.suffix. Some of these shields are still marked with this number. However the Accession Register entries were taped over with new numbers; the E 1911.102.suffix set of idnos. In addition the shields were given BB numbers as can be seen in the Blue Book under BB 1911.394-406. Some of these shield have a label affixed with another number, 1911.115.suffix but these have been determined as Haddon Collection numbers. In order to clarify the numbering system for these shields it has been determined that the most recent idnos of E 1911.102.suffix should have primacy. These have therefore been placed in the Accession No field, the BB accession number and the old E 1911.371.suffix placed in MAA Nos, and finally the identified Haddon numbers in the Other Nos field.

Context (Amendments / updates)
Only part of the collection acquired from E. B. Haddon in 1911 was included in the 1912 Annual report. For reasons unknown, these objects were not given a 1912 Annual Report number but a 1911 Annual Report number. Many objects have been marked with their 1911 AR numbers.

Context (Amendments / updates)
Please note that the catalogue card gave the original number for this object as 1911.371.6. It was later realised that this was not a proper Accession register number and does not match the accession register, and was amended. However, it was amended incorrectly, giving the objects IDNO as E 1911.102.106. The correct IDNO for this object is E 1911.102.110.
