The catalogue card reads 'This burial contained the skeleton of a man with a few fragments ^ of woven material (D), and ^ of much decayed glass between the lead and the stone coffins at the head. (C)'.

Burial 1. Excavated in 19 August 1952: Found when laying sewerage pipes for new building estate, 19th August 1952, by Messrs Sindall (Contractors) Grid Ref. approx 52/452608. The coffin had been covered by a rectangular building with a wall and floor of chalk (Melbourn Rock).; 52/452 608

The suffix 'D' was added to the hand written catalogue card in a different hand clearly at a later date. The woven material is not mentioned in Fell's publication, see (Bib) above, however this could be due to the woven material not being found at time of publication and only after further analysis. Or this addition of 'D' could be a result of confusion over material found with the remains of the female skeleton (Burial 4) and incorrectly associated with the male skeleton (Burial 1). The Number field has been amended from 3 to 0 due to the unstable nature of the woven fragments making a definite number unclear.
