Description

Large, sub-rectangular, dark brown piece of barkcloth with black patterning on one side and patches of similar barkcloth stitched in. The central pattern consist of spots in concentric circles, organised into four vertical rectangles separated by double lines. The central pattern is bordered on the long edges by narrow rectangles that are divided into triangles and filled with dots and crescents. The design is wholly bordered by straight lines forming concentric rectangles, which are filled with dots and diagonal lines.

M. Backhouse: 'Large, dark brown piece of barkcloth with patterning on one side only, and patches of similar barkcloth finely stitched in. The major designs in the centre consist wholly of spots in concentric cirles which are organised into four rectangular vertical boxes. Before and after the first of these boxes are thinner boxes divided into triangles and filled in with spots. The whole is framed by straight lines forming concentric rectangles between which are spots and diagonal lines.'
