Description
Weaving equipment consisting of four separate objects: red thread rolled on a wooden spool [.2]; long bunch of loose red string [.3]; wound up white coiled string [.4]; and loom with threads [.1]. This consists of two round ceramic loom weights; eleven wooden rods in six sections with blue, pink and white thread wound around them and attached; and a lot of red thread attached at one end, wound with white string. At another end is a complete rectangular panel consisting of red thread with stripes of pink, blue, white, green, orange, purple with some decoration of squares, flowers and a star on top.

Two small pieces of paper were found with B, printed at the top is 'Jardines William Courtauld', with handwritten notes in blue ink below. The handwriting is hard to read, but it as been photographed and transcribed as best as possible below.
‘Amarapura city of 6[?..] outside Mandalay.

Yarn (smuggled ?for children).

Description for 1938.89 A-G: 'Weaving loom with red and blue thread being worked into a multicoloured cloth. Massive framework. Probably back strap (?framed warp beam). Pair of reciprocating heddles. Remains of another heddle. Fabric 6" wide. Red tabby, and extra coloured wefts floating.
A: Sword for the loom.
B: Threads of various colours for loom.'
