Description (Physical description)
Kalaga (tapestry) showing scenes of palace life and a royal battle embroidered onto black fabric. The condition is extremely good, the colours are still bright and the bast majority of sequins are still attached, metallic thread is also stitched through the piece. The border is made up of hintha birds decorated with metal sequins. The middle scenes of the kalaga show a battle scene surrounding an image of palace life. The battle scenes show a white elephant and numerous men with guns approaching the palace. All figures are highly detailed with sequins used to decorate them. The palace scene shows two figures, possibly a king and queen, seated under a canopy. A large amount of their clothing and furnishings are coloured gold with sequins.
