Description (Labels & Markings)
Typed label affixed to the frame reads '95', this is in reference to Singer's original inventory. However this is not the correct Singer number, 95 in the inventory is described as 'Part of the official unifrom of U Kyan Gyi'. There has been an error in labelling, with the correct Singer number being 92, which is described as 'Framed parabaik painting of war elephants being trained'. Due to this error, the painting has been assigned the IDNO 'MN0126.92' even though the label gives another number.

Description (Physical description)
Framed parabaik painting of war elephants being trained. Two elephants have been painted with two men on their backs, a crowd of men is watching the training and a king or prince is seated under a parasol. There is no artist's signature. The background of the piece is simple with most of the painting being blue, there are three trees to suggest that they are training outside. The crowd of men depicted in this picture can be split into groups: eight men seen kneeling towards the king with one holding the parasol; nine men playing different instruments; two men with spears pushing the elephant towards a tiger in a cart; seven men drawn at the bottom looking towards the tiger and elephant; three men wheeling the tiger towards the elephant; and lastly a group of five men placed between both elephants. The elephants appear to have a different style to their painting, with dots being used to cover their trunks and ears. Most of the men are painted with the same clothing however the colours may be different.
The painting is mounted on yellow card and placed in a gold frame. There is a metal wire across the width of the back of the painting.
