List of Paintings on Pith Paper

1. Boy carrying a folded banner
2. Boy in a green robe selling scroll paintings.
3. Upper class boy wearing a richly embroidered robe, possibly a prince.
[these three cards were commercially produced and the pith paper stuck to the card. “With C. Dack’s Best Yuletide Greetings”].
4. A mandarin.
5. Lady seated on a stool.
6. Possibly a soldier with a pole.
7. A vendor selling spectacles.
8. Possibly a servant in a purple robe.
9. Seated Chinese lady. “For my son Willie”
10. A chained convict being carried in a basket by two men.
11. An [sic] guard thrashing a chained convict. His back is already bloody from the beating.
12. A vendor holding what appears to be dumplings in a bamboo tray.
[the paintings from 4 to 12 are not of he highest quality and the pith had been cut badly and pasted onto sheets of paper]
13. A large good quality painting of a pink and red peony roses, white flowers and a butterfly.
