Description (Physical description)
Framed silk painting depicting a prince followed by seven court ladies or courtesans. There is damage to the top and middle of the painting, with visible tears of the fabric. The left side of the silk is clearly breaking, with small pieces of silk separated from the main body of the object.
The prince is the first figure depicted in the line up, he is wearing a white jacked and red patterned bottoms. He is facing away from the women with his right hand across his body. Directly behind him is a woman with a gilt necklace, whose arms are crossed across her body. The next three women are seen as a separate group, the first is looking back as if in conversation with the middle woman who has her hands are in a prayer position. The third woman is looking behind at the final group. The final three women are smaller in size and have slightly less distinct detailing on their faces and clothes. All figures in the scene have some form of gilding depicting personal adornment. The scene is set in a garden or forest.
The back of the frame is secured by masking tape.
