Description (Physical description)
Framed silk painting depicting a prince surround by ten court ladies, most of which have their head bowed in respect. There is gilding on the silk, particularly the outline of the large seat on which the prince is placed. There is significant damage to the painting. The top of the painting appears to be more damaged than the bottom, it is possible that this scene was part of a larger piece, the tree branches appear to have been cut off prematurely. The middle section of the piece has a large amount of damage to it, with strips of silk missing or disintegrated. The back panel of the frame shows sign of mould or water damage. There is a piece of string across the width of the frame suggesting the painting was hung.
