Description

Small watercolour depicting a Buddhist monk in a pose similar to the pose of Enlightenment, he is shown in Bhumisparsa (Earth touching) Mudra. The monk wears orange robes and is holding a string of beads in his right hand. Behind him is a large wooden box, possibly for offerings, a white fan and bamboo. It is signed 'M. T. Hla' (Maung Tin Hla) in the bottom right corner.

Hla' (Maung Tin Hla) in the bottom right corner. The painting appears to have been mounted at some point, however, it is loose now.
