Description (Physical description)
A large bee-it (a lady's toilet box) with severe damage to the lid and no inner tray. The bee-it is covered in a red-brown lacquer but has no decoration, suggesting that this would have belonged to a commoner. There are a few features on the bee-it consisting of turned pillars around the base, and a number of thin strips of bamboo towards the top. The box has been badly damaged, around the sides are remains of tape once attached. The lid itself is in the worst condition, the centre has been pushed inwards and has almost completely come away from the sides. In addition to this, tape has been adhered to the interior of the lid to try and fix the breakage, this is also visible from the outside of the bee-it. The interior lacquer of both lid and base is also cracked.
