Description (Physical description)
Portrait of the celebrated dancer and actress Ma Htway Lay. The portrait is made from ceramic and covered with a yellow-brown glaze. There is damage to the base and extremities of the figure, the outer parts of her costume have broken off both sides of the figure. The glaze has also cracked over the majority of the portrait, with significant cracking over the face and right hand side. The intricate design of the portrait can be seen on the costume and foliage placed at the side of the body.
