Description (Physical description)
A small Ko-kaw-tee bowl with an inscription on the base. It is decorated with black lacquer and then gilded. The decoration is thayo (paste lacquer and ash) depicting different tribal figures of the locality. The thayo decoration consists of loops and tendrills, and four panels each containing a tribal couple. They are all carrying an offering, one is blowing a reed pipe. Singer suggests these figures represent the subjects of Soa Pha or Chief of Kengtung, and these figures are shown coming to pay their respects at the haw (palace). The moulded figures are extremely fine.
