Description (Physical description)
Ceremonial sword and sheath, covered in red lacquer and gilded. The sword is decorated with small pieces of different coloured glass, the colours include silver, red and green. The gilding on the piece has rubbed off on the handle and top of the sheath, however, it remains mostly intact at the bottom. The handle is decorated with rings of green, red and silver glass, with flowers in the middle of these bands. The lacquer has cracked around the top of the handle, and also where the blade meets the handle. The sheath is decorated with a band of silver glass circles, followed by smaller green ones. Then below these two there is a band of flowers with red glass petals and a silver middle. Below this band is a ring of green circles, and lastly this is followed by a band of silver circles. There is damage to the sheath, the wood has split down one side.
