Description

A Ko-kaw-tee bowl with two metal loops but missing its handle. It is decorated in red lacquer and gilded with the raised design, thayo (a paste of lacquer and ash), consisting of loops and tendrils. The underside has a medallion in the shape of an eight-petalled flower.

A hand written label adhered to the interior reads 'B.L.32.N.F.S'. The 'BL' number is in reference to a previous inventory devised by the collector during the ?1980s, one version of this inventory was seen amongst the collectors paperwork dated to 12th July 1983.
