Description

A small portable bamboo betel box with a lid, base, and two trays, shaped in the form of a basket for storing rice. The lid is decorated with four naga-dragons around a central floral motif and the side of the base has six naga-dragons with floral motifs. This box has 6 small feet each decorated with a flower and the underside of the two trays are decorated with purple, which is unusual.

Description (Labels & Markings)
A label adhered to the lid reads '27'. This is in reference to an inventory of lacquerware seen amongst the collector's paperwork written on 14th April 1999. A label adhered to the underside of the base reads '3' however, it is not clear to which inventory, if any, this refers.
