Description

A wooden helmet of a Burmese officer possibly from the Second Anglo Burmese war of 1852. It is covered in lacquer, red can be seen around the underside of the brim and black on the interior of the bowl. The top is gilded. A red textile chin strap is threaded through the top and the end tufts form decoration. Cracks can be seen where the bowl meets the brim and on the edge of the brim.
