Context (Display)
Copper wire on sheath has been left in place upon inspection on 09/12/2016. The wire does not look like the copper wire used historically for the mounting/display of objects at MAA. It is likely that the wire was already on the object when it entered the museum, as it is used to secure the bone piece to the wooden section of the sheath, probably as a replacement for vegetable fibre (as used higher up the piece), which became loose.

Description (Physical description)
'The bone part of the object is unlikely to be sheep, which do not live in the Naga Hills. As it appears too large to be pig bone it is probably a bone of a bovine such as Bos Frontalis (mithun or ayal), the state animal of Arunachal Pradesh.' Notes by Bina Gandhi Deori, who visited MAA as part of her Charles Wallace India Trust Fellowship 7/12/2016.
