Description
Cow horn beaker, dark in colour. Used for drinking beer. Two bands consisting of two engraved parallel lines each decorate the cup 1/3 from the top down. A similar decoration is found near the base of the cup. At the base are two small plugs of wood on opposite sides.

Collected by Professor David Phillipson, Director of MAA 1981- 2006. Purchased in a market in Banak Dar (Southern end of Lake Tana).
Place in documentation described as Banak Dar (Southern end of Lake Tana). It appears no such place exists (or has been renamed) in which case Bahir Dar in a similar location might be the correct place.
