Context (Analysis)
This stone was identified in August 1956 by K.W. Barr and the letter received by Geoffrey Bushnell detailing the classifications may be found in the archives (FR4/3/3). It was identified as 'volcanic tuff of andesite type, composed of plagiocase, pale green horneblende, chlorite and accessories. Augite rare. Pyroclastic texture rather obscure, but contains numerous rounded fragments of green, very fine textured andesit. Probably from Goldbourough formation.'
