Written in Devanagari. Can read what looks like “Shri Shankaraji Narayan”, which is all that’s written on it. The English on the back says ‘Nagpore? Jhansi?’ but neither Nagpur nor Jhansi had any rulers with that name. As it’s small and doesn’t list titles like Maharaja etc it’s probably the seal of an official or lesser ruler. The only person can find named Shankaraji Narayan was a minister of the Maratha Empire who fought against the Mughals and went on to found the princely state of Bhor. It could potentially be his seal, but he lived from 1665-1707, so died about 150 years before these seals were collected. [Information provided by Danika Parikh, Department of Archaeology]
