Context (CMS Context)
Written in Devanagari. Can make out Rajah Muhesh Narain written on the back. Think it is Raja Mahesh Narain who was raja/taluqdar of Parhat/Purhat in Pratapgarh. Think he was loyal to the British in 1857 ('History of the Indian Mutiny of 1857-8 - Vol. VI', Colonel George Bruce Malleson, 2014). [Information provided by Danika Parikh, Department of Archaeology]
