77 samples of plain paper and envelopes. 11 pieces of cream paper, some with ripped edges, with pink lined frame. 66 paper envelopes of varying thickness, all with a rectangular frame printed on the upward facing side.

One of a collection of objects collected by Miss. Carpenter and donated by Mrs. Claydon. According to the catalogue card for 1979.266:
'Miss Carpenter, who originally lived in Wiltshire, worked for the China Inland Mission in Szechuan from 1927-1945; during which time she collected these various objects. On her return to England she moved to Norfolk. On her death these objects were left to Mrs. Claydon (of Shipdham, Norfolk), her next-door-neighbour, through whom the collection was given to this museum.'
