Description (Physical description)
Paper ?flyer with Chinese and English text within a blue border. Blue and black ink on cream paper. Reads: 'COMRADESHIP FOR CHINA / (To help win the Boys and Girls of China for Christ) / The Chinese character in the centre means / Happy or Blessed. The text on the sides reads / downwards and begins at the top right hand / corner. The translation is: / "It is Happier to Give than to Get." / -Acts xx 35.'
On reverse, in black handwritten text, reads: 'Basin for food & tea / & thin embroidery given / by Wang Tsong chen'

One of a collection of objects collected by Miss. Carpenter and donated by Mrs. Claydon. According to the catalogue card for 1979.266:
'Miss Carpenter, who originally lived in Wiltshire, worked for the China Inland Mission in Szechuan from 1927-1945; during which time she collected these various objects. On her return to England she moved to Norfolk. On her death these objects were left to Mrs. Claydon (of Shipdham, Norfolk), her next-door-neighbour, through whom the collection was given to this museum.'
