Context (CMS Context)
In April 2014 Wannaporn (Kay) Rienjang, a PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge Division of Archaeology, examined this bead and made a silicone impression of the drill hole of this bead. She concluded that: 'the bead was perforated by a diamond drill, a type of drill invented in India c. 600 BC and continues to be used until now'. The attached images is a SEM image of the silicone impression, which was taken by Wannaporn.
