Description
Small fish-hook formed of a shank of polished shell to which is attached an incurving point of turtle-shell. They are lashed together with plant fibre. A small tassel of three red glass breads is attached to the lower part of the hook with plant fibre and red cloth. There are natural three natural holes/galleries made by a parasite visible on the back of the shank.

The engraved inscription 'Gavutu / 1903 / Solomon Ids' on the back of the hook is consistent in style and date with other inscriptions found on objects thought to have been collected by Woodford in 1903.
