Description

A rectangular mat or cloth, possibly clothing, woven from multiple panels of black dyed plant and textile stitched together. One long strip of dark blue textile with white spots; stitched geometric patterns of spirals and zig-zags.

Found so far: Nos 43, 44, 46, 47, 48 (G), 49, 50, 51, 52 (K), 54 (M), 57, 55 (M), 59 (R), 60 (S), 62 (U), 66 (Y), 67 (Z).
43: Also labelled 1911.129 A (b). Some holes present.
44: with natural, brown and red designs. Frayed patch at edge, with rusty nail,?for display. Reg 1911.129 A (c). Stained.
46: Yellow, black and orange design. Also labelled 'Reg 1911.129 A (e)'
47: Also labelled 'Reg 1911.129 A (f). Embroidered designs with bue cotton insert. Some holes present. Made from pieces of cloth sewn together. Stained.
48 (G): Red tufted pattern. Stained. also labelled 'Reg 1911.129 A'.
49: striped with chequer work designs and fringe. Also labelled Reg 1911.129 (h)
50: square with pompoms and fringe, with length of wood at one end, broken, ?in process of manufacture/for display. Stained, small holes in fabric. Also labelled 1911.129 A (i)
55 (N): chequered.
57: natural coloured. Also labelled 1911.129 A ('r' or 'h' or 'p')
67 (Z): Hole in cloth, stained.
There is also another cloth, labelled only with the Blue book number, BB 1911.129 A, which is part of the E 1911.55 series.
