This object is listed in a letter sent by Reverend Edgell to the Museum, now in the archives (OA2/1/2) - it is listed as no.18: '1. Native box with lime inside from the Solomon Islands. It is made of a gourd & the people use lime to eat with their betel nut. Probably from Malanta [Malaita] or Bougotu [Bugotu] (Isabel Island).'
