Context (Analysis)
A twine circlet with eight Conus ground and perforated spires attached. All spires are perforated at the apex and all are very worn. Diameters range from: 22.47mm, 23.73mm, 23.59mm, 23.34mm, 31.67mm, 27.68mm, 26.76mm and 25.58mm. The outer circumferences are well worn, and often into an irregular shape with partial whorls completely abraded away. On the body faces, the whorls have been ground down so that they are flat on the outer whorls, but the inner whorls remain inset and unground. Although it's possible that the discs were repurposed into this artefact, all the major use-wear relates to the mode in which it is currently strung. The outer spire surfaces are smooth and rather rounded. They were only ground flat in the central portion of the spire, and the outer whorls slope down to the margins.
