Context (Analysis)
Strand of white shell money with widely-spaced clusters of teeth (dolphin). The beads are all made of bivalve and all indications point to Anadara. Although the beads are very white and not terribly lustrous (which would generally indicate little wear), under magnification they are rounded and well-worn. There is no indication that the beads derive from more than one species, and the outer ribs are still evidence in cross-section on some beads.
Teeth: dolphin (conical) not porpoise (spade-shaped)
