Context (Amendments / updates)
The match between E 1889.77 and Z 32095 is based on the fact that 1) only one money [E 1889.77] was given to the Museum by Bishop Selwyn according to MAA's accession registers, 2) 1889.77 did not have a recorded location and 3) the description on the catalogue card and accession register match the object and the label accompanying the object.

Context (Analysis)
Four strands of predominantly white shell money, with some sections of alternating white shell discs and dark seeds. There are very occasional red (Chama pacifica) shell beads interspersed but the are not integrated in in any sort of pattern. Beads are a mixture of sizes and finishes with some being small, worn and rounded and others being larger with rougher peripheries.
The white beads are made of Anadara granosa. Some zones are of mixed sizes/finishes and have clearly been restrung, whereas other zones have beads that have been ground together on a single strand as a unit.
