Description

Spear - Wooden spear carved with flat, openwork blade, with zigzag designs, some flaring to branches at the ends. Two parallel lines with openwork scrolls. Spear shows evidence of red pigment throughout, with black pigment in the negative designed on the blade. The upper section of the spear point is lacking the red pigment, possibly due to a missing wrapping. Whitish, red and black accretions on spear tip. Carved finial at base of shaft.
