Context (Other)
This object lost its association with its original accession number and was, at some stage, reaccessioned as Z 17396 with no provenance or context. It has been identified through its publication in Petrie's 'Gizeh and Rifeh' (see Bib) as one of two soul houses to come to the museum in 1907. The original accession number was either 1907.703 or 1907.704; it has been assumed to be the former (following the same order as Petrie's distribution list) since it is impossible to confirm.

Context (Other)
There has been some damage to the object since it was photographed for Petrie's book, possibly prior to shipment to England. The front left corner of the portico is broken away and missing.
