There appears to have been confusion about the findspot of this object. The accession register entry and what appears to be the original catalogue card both list axe as from Stromness, Orkney. However, both the label affixed to the object and the caption for its illustration in Ridgeway's publication (see Bib) indicates that the axe is from Shetland but was purchased in Stromness, Orkney. The Place field therefore reflects this.
