Context (CMS Context)
Small paper label which notes 'McGregor / R- 1898' with 'Z 9194' added to it later, which was then altered to 'Z 9192'. The bowl has also been incorrectly numbered Z 9194 on the inside but this bowl has already been located.

Found with modern paper labelled Z 9192 (E 1898.71.117) but this object has also been located, and was numbered with a small paper label, which matched the register description of a small oval bowl.

The bowl from the current record may therefore be E 1898.74.115 or 116 which are currently missing, though it is not coloured.

Catalogue card for E 1898.71.114- 116 ‘three earthenware bowls of dark clay, the outside being an elaborate raised design (in slip) which is coloured white and red’

Annual report for 1899.802-4 notes ‘earthenware vessels, viz. : (1-3) thereupon run bowls of dark clay, the outside baring an elaborate raised design (in ‘slip’) which is coloured white and red’

The card for E 1898.71.117 has been re-numbered as Z 9192 at a later date, presumably after the 1930s when the bowls were Z'ed.
There were two bowls found labelled with Z 9192 and the object from the current record, a round bowl that did not match the description of Z 9192 or E 1898.71.117, was renumbered TEMP.00121

Rounded earthenware bowl with zigzag and lug designs. An old William MacGregor paper label is adhered to the side of the bowl.

A small pen sketch of the object is on the card for E 1898.71.117/ Z 9192, now noted as TEMP.00121
