Context (CMS Context)
The original catalogue card states 'A number of Mousterian flint implements including side scrapers, flakes etc. Also some fauna, bones showing traces of 'Utilisation'. From the rock shelter at La Quina. All specimens come from the Bourlon Collection. The first number Marked on each specimen (I, II, III) refers to the various digs carried out at La Quina. The second number is that of the layer. Thus 1938.601 = layer I and 1938.601a = layer II.' It is currently unclear where the records for 1938.601 B and C originate as no flints have yet been seen with these suffixes. It is possible that the records for B and C were created in error.
