Context (Amendments / updates)
When this accession number was transferred to the museum from Oriental Studies, it was originally assumed that the objects came from Egypt, as did most of the other objects. However, until they can be more securely given a location, several likely possibility have been included in the Place field.

Description (CMS Description)
Roughly moulded figure of reclining woman. Back of figure is hand finished. The woman wears an elaborate hairstyle or headdress. Her left hand is held to her clavicle, her right hand rests on her leg. Her garment ends above crudely moulded feet. The right arm has diagonal incised lines to indicate draped fabric. The skirt area has vertical incised lines. The couch or sofa on which she reclines in indicated by a horizontal line at the base of the figure.
