Context (Amendments / updates)
When this accession number was transferred to the museum from Oriental Studies, it was originally assumed that the objects came from Egypt, as did most of the other objects. However, until they can be more securely given a location, several likely possibility have been included in the Place field.

Description (CMS Description)
Roughly moulded baboon or monkey holding object up to mouth. There is a faded circle of red pigment with a dot in the centre on the reverse. Front of figure is roughly moulded, back is hand finished.
