Description

Forehead or chest ornament formed of a very large disc of Tridacna, perforated in its centre, to which a thin disc of turtle shell carved in openwork is fastened with twisted cotton string. A small tassel of red and white shell beads and black coconut wood is attached to the centre of the discs. The ornament is fastened to a large finely woven band of red orchid fibre.
