Context (CMS Context)
The catalogue card for 1908.222 amalgamated the accession register entries for 1908.221 and 1908.222, which were both from the same place and donated by C.R. Jennings. A separate catalogue card was created to describe a small handaxe from Kennett, which was assigned 1908.221, but does not appear in the 1908 accession register. To clarify this situation, the following steps have been taken: this new record has been created for 1908.221/Record 1 and its description removed from 1908.222, in order to accurately reflect the 1908 accession register; the suffix /Record 2 has been added to the record for the handaxe to distinguish it from this, the original 1908.221; a note has been added to 1908.222 explaining this. If the correct accession number for 1908.221/Record 2 is discovered, the suffix /Record 1 can be removed from this idno. 17/7/2014 I.Gunn
