Context (CMS Context)
This arrowhead is marked with an idno (1913.5) that does not appear in the 1913 Accessions Register, which only begins at 1913.106 (the 1913, 1914, etc. years suffering from confused accessioning). Nor does the number match the Annual Report description of AR 1913.5, which is a stone celt from Burwell. There is only one barbed and tanged arrowhead from Lakenheath donated by CAS in 1913, AR 1913.70/1913.175, but the description and the measurements (1.5 in. x 1.1 in) do not quite match up - unless the barb broke after it was accessioned. That arrowhead has no CMS record and is currently unlocated. The decision was therefore taken to create a record for 1913.5, using that as its formal idno, and to tentatively list AR 1913.70 and 1913.175 in the indo field until such time as they can be definitively matched to either this arrowhead (1913.5) or a separate arrowhead.
