Context (Production / use)
Made by women, the bead necklaces are worn by the male relatives (from the nephew to the great-grand-father) of the makers. The seed necklaces are sold or bartered to the (rare) outsiders such as tourists, governmental officials, NGO workers, and brought to the coast for sale by those to afford to go there. These were bartered for glass beads.

The hanger has a animal tooth C: necklace with purple, dark pink, beige and green coloured beads. The hanger has a star-shape D: necklace with purple, dark pink, beige and green coloured beads. The hanger has a turtle-shape E: necklace with purple, dark pink, beige, green and blue coloured beads. The hanger has a lizard-shape F: Seed and bead necklace with lizard hanger. Colours include: blue, orange, green, beige, purple, bright green and dark blue G: Seed and bead necklace with round seed hanger. Colours include: yellow, black, green, and red H: Glass bead necklace with transparent, black red, green and yellow beads.'

Necklace, made from mara mara seeds dyed blue, red and brown. Rectangular pendant decorated with a zoomorphic design, with tassels of multi-coloured feathers (green, yellow, orange, red) and grey Abrus precatorius seeds.
